1. What do I need to get married at The Falls Wedding Chapel?
    All you need is a Marriage License Issued in New York State from any City or Town Clerks office. The cost is $40, and you can obtain the marriage certificate application from us. Your license must be at least 24 hours old before the Ceremony.

  2. How do I get a NYS Marriage License?
    - Both parties must appear together before the Clerk, with each presenting at least one form of photo identification (driver's license or passport), plus birth certificates.
    - If you have been divorced, you must show the clerk a certified copy of your divorce decree issued by the Court.
    - There is NO blood test or medical exam required.
    - The clerk will hand you the Marriage License, which can be used for up to 60 days after a 24-hour waiting period.
    - You must give the Marriage License to the minister before the ceremony.
    - Copies are sufficient of Birth Certificate and divorce papers.

  3. Can we get a marriage license on a weekend or holiday?
    The Niagara Falls Chapel can assist you in arranging to obtain a marriage license on a weekend or holiday. Please call us for more information.

  4. Do you perform same-sex weddings?
    Since July 2011, The Niagara Falls Chapel has performed hundreds of wedding ceremonies for the gay and lesbian community. We are honored to help you celebrate your love in the splendor of Niagara Falls!

  5. How long will our ceremony last?
    Your ceremony will last approximately 10-15 minutes. However, we reserve one hour's time to complete your wedding ceremony and photos.

  6. May we say our own personal vows?
    Our ministers strive to make your ceremony personal by utilizing a biography about the Bride & Groom. We welcome any personal vows you wish to say at your ceremony.

  7. Is it proper to tip the minister/officiant and Photographer?
    Though it is not necessary to tip the minister/officiant or photographer if you feel you have received wonderful service and wish to express your gratitude, feel free to do so.

  8. What happens if it rains?
    Whenever possible we try to perform all ceremonies outdoors next to the Falls. We can change the time and even the day. We know that you did not make the trip to view a wonder of the world and get married indoors.

  9. How/when do we get to see our photos?
    You will receive a thank you email from us the next morning giving you directions to view your photos and it will contain a copy of your completed marriage license for your records.
